Kapitel 5

2 Dazu auch vorhin, da Saul7586 über uns König4428 war935, führtest du Israel3478 aus3318 und ein. So hat8032 der HErr3068 dir gesagt559: Du sollst meines Volks5971 Israel3478 hüten7462 und sollst ein Herzog5057 sein über Israel3478.

3 Und es kamen935 alle Ältesten2205 in Israel3478 zum Könige4428 gen Hebron2275. Und der König4428 David1732 machte3772 mit ihnen einen Bund1285 zu Hebron2275 vor6440 dem HErrn3068; und sie salbeten David1732 zum Könige4428 über Israel3478.

4 Dreißig7970 Jahre8141 war David1732 alt1121, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete vierzig705 Jahre8141.

8 Da sprach559 David1732 desselben Tages3117: Wer die Jebusiter2983 schlägt5221 und erlanget die Dachrinnen6794, die Lahmen6455 und Blinden5787, denen die See LE5315 Davids1732 feind8130 ist935. Daher spricht man559: Laß keinen Blinden5787 und Lahmen6455 ins Haus1004 kommen.

9 Also wohnete David1732 auf der Burg4686 und5892 hieß7121 sie1129 Davids Stadt3427. Und David bauete umher5439 von Millo4407 und inwendig1004.

10 Und David1732 ging1980 und nahm3212 zu, und der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Zebaoth6635, war1419 mit ihm.

15 Jebehar, Elisua474, Nepheg5298, Japhia3309,

16 Elisama476, Eliada, Eliphalet.

17 Und6430 da die Philister6430 höreten, daß man David1732 zum Könige4428 über Israel3478 gesalbet hatte4886, zogen sie1245 alle herauf, David1732 zu8085 suchen. Da das David1732 erfuhr8085, zog5927 er hinab3381 in eine Burg4686.

18 Aber die Philister6430 kamen935 und ließen sich nieder5203 im Grunde6010 Rephaim7497.

19 Und David1732 fragte7592 den HErrn3068 und sprach559: Soll ich hinaufziehen5927 wider die Philister6430, und willst du sie5414 in meine Hand3027 geben5414? Der HErr3068 sprach559 zu David1732: Zeuch hinauf5927, ich will die Philister6430 in deine Hände3027 geben5414.

20 Und1732 David1732 kam935 gen Baal-Prazim und schlug5221 sie daselbst und sprach559: Der HErr3068 hat meine Feinde341 vor mir6440 voneinander gerissen6555, wie die8034 Wasser4325 reißen6556. Daher hieß7121 man denselben Ort4725 Baal-Prazim.

21 Und sie5800 ließen ihren Götzen6091 daselbst. David1732 aber und seine Männer582 huben sie auf5375.

22 Die Philister6430 aber zogen abermal herauf5927 und ließen sich nieder5203 im Grunde6010 Rephaim7497.

23 Und310 David1732 fragte7592 den HErrn3068; der sprach559: Du935 sollst nicht hinaufziehen, sondern komm5437 von hinten zu ihnen, daß du an5927 sie kommest gegen den Maulbeerbäumen1057.

24 Und wenn du hören wirst das Rauschen6963 auf6440 den7218 Wipfeln der Maulbeerbäume1057 einhergehen6807, so zaue dich; denn der HErr3068 ist2782 dann ausgegangen3318 vor dir her, zu8085 schlagen5221 das Heer4264 der Philister6430.

25 David1732 tat, wie der HErr3068 ihm geboten6680 hatte6213, und schlug5221 die Philister6430 von Geba1387 an, bis man kommt935 gen Gaser.

Chapter 5

1 THEN all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said to him, Behold, we are your flesh and your bone.

2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel; and the LORD said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be a ruler over my people Israel.

3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel.

4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

6 And King David and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, You shall not come in here, except you destroy both the blind and the lame; and they said, David cannot come in here.

7 Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.

8 And David said on that day, Whosoever smites a Jebusite and whosoever strikes with a weapon the blind and the lame, he is a hater of David's soul. Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the temple.

9 So David dwelt in the fort, that is, Zion; and he called it the city of David. And David built round about the fort from within.

10 And David continued to become greater, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees and carpenters and masons; and they built David a house.

12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.

13 And David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were more sons and daughters born to David.

14 And these are the names of the sons who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammuah, Shachab, Nathan, Solomon,

15 Jocabar, Elisha, Nepheg, Naphia,

16 Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphalet.

17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the fort.

18 The Philistines also came and encamped in the Valley of Giants.

19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? Wilt thou deliver them into my hands? And the LORD said to David, Go up; for I will deliver them into your hands.

20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there, and David said, The LORD has made a breach through my enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

21 And they left their idols there, and David and his men carried them away.

22 And the Philistines came up yet again and encamped in the Valley of the Giants.

23 And when David inquired of the LORD, the LORD said to him, You shall not go up; but circle behind them, and come upon them opposite Bachim.

24 And when you hear the sound of marching on the top of the mountain of Bachim, then you shall become strong; for then shall the LORD go out before you to smite the army of the Philistines.

25 And David did as the LORD had commanded him; and he smote the Philistines from Geba to the entrance of Gadar.
